Things to Do

The Elijio Panti National Park has some of the best tropical and coniferous wilderness in Belize.

Adventurers who plan to camp at the Elijio National Park might be able to see jaguar, margay, ocelot, puma, spider monkey, baboon, peccary, coatimundi, anteater, armadillo, weasel, white tail deer,brocket deer and the national animal - Tapir in their natural habitat.  
The Privacion River flows down the pristine "Sakt'aj waterfalls" into the Macal River, well known for the "La Ruta Maya River Challenge", that passes through San Ignacio on its way to Belize City.  You can enjoy swimming in the pools, sight seeing at the waterfalls, and tubing (if you bring your own)  
The caves were used by the Ancient Mayas for ceremonial purposes.  The ceramic pots in one of the chambers are unique because of their size.  
Hike to see the magnificent national tree of Belize - Mahogany tree, Sakt'aj waterfalls, and two dry caves: the Cormorant and Offering  
The park is a birdwatchers paradise; abundant in the park are the great tinamou, ocellated turkey, hawks,doves, parrots, toucan, owl, mot mot, jay, hummingbirds,vultures, trogons, chachalacas, curassows, quails, oropendola and more.  
Labeled medicinal plants, edible plants, decorative plants, wild flowers along the nature trails offer a once in a life time learning experience.  

Experience Sakt'aj waterfalls, valleys, hills, hiking, camping, tubing, sight seeing and caving are among the many ways to experience Elijio Panti National Park.
